Gallery Kitchen

The owners of this 1960s residence, avid art collectors, grew weary of the kitchen and dining room. These rooms were distinctly separate spaces and felt somewhat small, confined and a bit distant. They wanted to remove the wall and bind the spaces together, while providing display space that would allow them to showcase their artwork. The design solution removes the shared wall, expanding the perceived space of both areas, while retaining a subtle division with custom cabinetry that is both part of the kitchen island and a display cabinet/screen wall. The owners’ collection of various ceramic objects can now be appreciated from both the kitchen side and the dining room side.
